New Construction, Operational Growth, and Community Impact Across Maine
In a year marked by continued housing shortages across Maine, Developers Collaborative delivered 152 new homes in 2025 spanning affordable housing, workforce housing, and senior living communities while expanding statewide operations and advancing a pipeline of 559 additional units now under construction or moving toward groundbreaking in 2026.
These milestones build on more than a decade of sustained growth. Since its founding, Developers Collaborative has invested more than $400 million in Maine, completed 67 developments across 11 counties and 29 municipalities, and delivered 1,730+ housing units statewide.
The organization has also developed more than 400,000 square feet of commercial space including two shelters totaling 437 beds, and grown to 53 employees and counting.
Together, these cumulative achievements reflect an expanding role in Maine’s housing infrastructure and regional economic development.

152 Homes Delivered Across Four Communities
In 2025, Developers Collaborative completed 152 housing units:
Peasley Park — 49 units in Rockland
Sturgeon Landing — 32 units in Augusta
Rumery Lofts — 38 units in Portland
Rumford Senior Living — 33 units in Rumford
The projects include affordable housing, workforce housing, and senior living, helping address housing access for working families, older adults, and local employers seeking stability in their workforce.
Each completed development contributes to local construction employment, long-term property management jobs, and the economic vitality of surrounding communities.

143 Units Under Construction
An additional 143 units are currently under construction:
BIW Workforce Housing — 84 units in Bath
Equality Commons — 54 units in Portland
Apartments at 21 Town Hall Place — 5 units in Brunswick
These projects reflect ongoing collaboration with municipalities and community partners to respond to urgent housing needs in key regional markets.
416 Units Advancing in 2026
Looking ahead, Developers Collaborative has 11 active projects totaling 416 units advancing toward construction in 2026.
The upcoming pipeline includes affordable housing, senior housing, workforce housing, condominiums, and mixed-use developments across Maine and New Hampshire, reinforcing a diversified approach to meeting housing demand.
Expanding Capacity to Support Communities
In 2025, Developers Collaborative expanded its internal platform to support long-term stewardship and growth.
The company hired more than 40 staff statewide and launched a new affordable housing management company, DC Management. Compliance, resident services, property management, finance, and maintenance teams were strengthened to support an expanding portfolio.

The company now manages 43 properties across 10 Maine counties, representing more than 1,200 units.
That growth translated into measurable outcomes in 2025:
202 families moved into affordable homes
1,614 individuals were housed
1,373 individuals found safe shelter in DC-owned facilities
39,650 pounds of food were distributed through Wayside Food Programs
2,987 lives were impacted
Operational performance also improved, with occupancy increasing 5% within six months and resident satisfaction rising 30% across management, maintenance, and resident services.
A Leader in Maine’s Affordable Housing Production
Over the past decade, Developers Collaborative projects have comprised 22% of all competitively awarded Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) developments in Maine.
This distinction reflects sustained partnership with state housing agencies and a consistent track record of delivering complex, highly competitive affordable housing projects. It also underscores the organization’s role as a leading contributor to Maine’s affordable housing supply.
Leadership Perspective
“Housing is economic infrastructure,” said Kevin Bunker, Founder and Principal of Developers Collaborative. “When communities don’t have enough housing, everything feels it... employers, families, schools, and local businesses. Our work is about delivering high-quality housing that strengthens the long-term vitality of Maine’s cities and towns.”
More Than a Developer
At a time when Maine faces sustained housing shortages, Developers Collaborative’s 2025 results and its 2026 pipeline signal more than growth.
They reflect an organization evolving into a long-term housing platform: one that develops, owns, manages, and supports communities beyond the ribbon cutting.
The scale of delivery matters.
The operational expansion matters.
But most of all, the sustained commitment to Maine’s people and places matters.
Developers Collaborative is not just building projects. It is building the infrastructure that allows communities to grow.
