Rumford Senior Living is a completed 33-unit affordable senior (55+) rental community developed by Developers Collaborative in partnership with MaineHousing and local stakeholders. Located at 101 Hancock Street in Rumford, Maine, the four-story building delivers one-bedroom apartments designed to support aging in place while reinforcing the town’s downtown revitalization efforts. The development includes sixteen fully accessible units and serves households earning between 50 and 60 percent of Area Median Income, with seven project-based vouchers reserved for tenants with disabilities. Resident amenities include a community room with kitchenette, laundry facilities, on-site management, and thirty on-site parking spaces, including accessible parking.

Designed to complement the historic Strathglass Park District, the project occupies a prominent infill site overlooking the Androscoggin River and within walking distance of downtown Rumford, parks, and recreational trails.

Rumford Senior Living transformed a fire-damaged, environmentally compromised property into a high-quality housing resource for older adults. Redevelopment required extensive environmental remediation under Maine DEP oversight, demonstrating responsible land reuse and effective risk management while reinvesting in existing infrastructure. Energy-efficient building systems and a walkable location support long-term affordability, resident comfort, and reduced environmental impact. The completed project reflects Developers Collaborative’s approach to delivering durable, context-sensitive housing that strengthens communities and supports long-term resilience.
