166 RIVERSIDE

Developers Collaborative led the development of 166 Riverside, a 179-bed emergency shelter for single asylum seekers in Portland. The 16,000 square foot facility opened in November of 2023 and continues to provide a safe and supportive environment for individuals seeking refuge.

The new shelter has freed up approximately 120 beds at the city's 208-bed Homeless Services Center, located less than a mile away. This project was made possible through a MaineHousing grant received by the Center for Regional Prosperity, the non-profit arm of the Greater Portland Council of Governments.

166 Riverside is a critical resource for Portland, supporting the city’s ongoing efforts to address homelessness while also reflecting its broader commitment to welcoming newcomers in need of shelter and support.
