PARK STREET LOFTS

The Park Streets Lofts building, located in downtown Saco, Maine, had been used for manufacturing right up until Peter Bass of the Developers Collaborative initiated this residential conversion project. The building now houses 34 live/work condominiums, with between 1450 and 1820 square feet per unit.

The industrial character of the building is preserved with lofts that emphasize the building's historic heavy timber framing, and with Bass's marketing of the condominiums as live/work lofts with open floor plans that accommodate working and living in the same space.

The residential conversion also helped the building fit in better with its surroundings, a neighborhood of single-family homes, while also adding new vitality and new small businesses to the urban core of Biddeford/Saco.
