BRACKETT-ELLSWORTH-HILL APARTMENTS

When the Maine Medical Center negotiated the necessary contract zone for the major expansion project that is now nearly complete, the City of Portland and West End neighborhood activists asked that the hospital limit institutional creep by divesting of various buildings that it had converted from apartments to medical offices over the years.

The same hospital expansion also added additional demand for new housing for doctors, nurses, medical students, and other hospital staff in the neighborhood.

Concurrent with its Crescent Heights project, Developers Collaborative helped revitalize three rental apartment buildings to strengthen the neighborhood's housing stock and provide high-quality workforce housing.
