GILMAN PLACE

Gilman Place will simultaneously preserve a treasured neighborhood landmark and address a shortage of quality rental housing in Waterville.

The former Gilman Street School building, located a short walk away from Waterville's revitalized downtown, will be renovated according to historic preservation standards into 35 affordable apartments. The project will take advantage of state historic preservation tax credits as well as local community development grants.

The Developers Collaborative also hopes to partner with the city to reserve the former school's gymnasium for community uses.
